US History Week of March 28 - April 1

We have been working on the Roaring Twenties and the Great Depression this week. Quiz over Between the Wars is Thursday, March 31. We did a Milling to the Music activity to prepare  for the quiz. Use this to study. We will also watch America: The Story of US-Bust on Thursday, and begin WWII on Friday. I will give you some USA Testprep exercises to work on over the Spring Break for some grade recovery and practice for the EOC.

Algebra 1 Week of March 28 - April 1

Woohoo! Last week before Spring Break. We just began Unit 4 on Exponential Equations and Graphs. We have covered characteristics and transformations so far. Expect a Skills Check on Thursday.

ESOL US History Week of March 13 - 17

We took the test over Domain Three today (Thursday, March 17). We  began the study of Domain 4 with a map exercise, comparing Europe before WWI to Europe after WWI. This next unit is the most information dense of all the units, covering WWI, The Great Depression, WWII, Cold War, Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Tomorrow, we will start on the first set of notes which deal with WWI and watch America: The Story of US-Cities.

Algebra 1 Week of March 13-17

We are almost finished with Unit 3B. We will be testing on Wednesday over factoring and solving quadratic equations. The next unit is exponential equations and their graphs. Remember to do your nightly Daily Five homework.

US History Week of March 7 - 11

We completed the notes on Big Business and Industrialization and will have the quiz on Thursday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we worked on the mini-DBQ on Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. DuBois which is due on Thursday. We are into the second half of Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee and answering the questions associated with the film. Remember that the "Fakebook" Civil War project is due Tuesday, March 15.

Algebra 1 Week of March 7 - 11

This week, we have continued factoring by GCF, AC method, and difference of perfect squares. We started solving quadratics using the square root method and we will continue with solving using factoring and the quadratic equation. Next week, we will focus on completing the square and applying factoring and solving to real world examples. Be prepared to take the Unit 3B test by the end of next week.

US History Week of February 29 - March 4

This week we finished up the never-ending Domain 3, and started on Domain 4 which is the shortest unit. We took the Domain 3 test on Wednesday and Thursday, and started the new notes for Domain 4. We will continue with these notes, complete a mini-DBQ about WEB DuBois and Booker T. Washington, and begin watching the movie, Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee.  Continue to work on your "fakebook" pages; I'm excited to see what you come up with.

Algebra 1 Week of Feb 29 - March 4

We have been working on factoring quadratics this week. We began by factoring GCF, then added factoring by grouping, followed by factoring trinomials using the AC method (including A = 1 and A > 1), and finally talked about factoring the difference of perfect squares. On Friday, we will practice all of the factoring methods we have learned and start to take skills checks over these methods.

Next week, we will begin solving quadratic equations.
