World Literature Week of Sept. 19 - 23

We started the book, The House on Mango Street, on Friday. In the textbook, we will start on a new unit about Indian literature. Also, we will begin discussing persuasive writing as well. We will write an in-class essay on Thursday. Remember to always have your book with you for individual reading.

World History Week of Sept. 19 - 23

We will finish Unit 4 on the Middle Ages this week. We will watch a film about castles on Monday after we take the Mid-unit Benchmark quiz. Wednesday, we will review for the test, and Thursday will be the test. Many of you already finished the 100 Years War poster and turned it in, but it is officially due on Friday.

US History Week of Sept. 19 - 23

We will be talking about Reconstruction this week, as we finish Domain 2. We will take the quiz over the Civil War on Tuesday, and the summative Domain 2 test will be Friday. During the week, in addition to notes on Reconstruction, we will work on a DBQ that covers the Civil War and Reconstruction. Remember to look at Coach Sawyer's Schoology for quizzes.

World Literature

We have been enjoying the stories and poems from the Persian period. This week we will read some selections from Africa before taking the Unit Assessment on Wednesday. I will hand out this week's Vocabulary words on Monday and the quiz over the last two weeks will be Friday.

World History Week of September 12 - 26

We started on Unit 4, The Middle Ages in Europe, on Thursday. You have a Guided Reading packet over Chapters 13 and 14 from the book that you are doing in class. We will have notes and various small projects to do on this unit before the Unit Assessment on September 22, just in time for our Fall break.

US History Week of Sept 12 - 16

We are well into Domain 2, learning about the Antebellum period. We will have a quiz on Wednesday. The domain test will be Sept 22 or 23rd. Continue to go to the Schoology site for PPT and Cloze notes, as well as to view the quizzes and projects.

World Literature

We finished reading "The Fisherman and the Jinnee" last week and discussed folktales. This week we will begin with poetry by Rumi and discuss analogy and generalization. We will introduce new vocabulary words.

The test over Unit 3 is Wednesday. On Tuesday, we will review for the test. On Thursday, we will begin the new unit.

US History Week of Sept. 6 - 9

We have started on Domain 2 and are discussing expansion. We will have a quiz over expansion on Thursday, Sept. 8.
