We will continue to read "The House on Mango Street." Most of you are making great progress on your Mango Street projects. Since we are not currently reading anything from the textbook, our vocabulary will come from Mango Street.

World Literature Week of October 10 - 14

We had the unit test on Indian Literature on Friday, and most of you did very well. Good job! We will begin the unit on Chinese and Japanese Literature this week. We continue to work on The House on Mango Street. Remember that the Mango Street project is due November 18. Several of you are working hard already. Two of you have even given me your vignette on the neighborhood to proofread. Remember, if you give it to me to proofread before the due date, you have a much better chance of getting a high grade. The key to writing is revise, revise, revise!

US History Week of October 10 - 14

We are half-way through with the shortest domain of the semester, Domain 3. In this domain are two sections, Big Business and Expansion, and the Progressive Era. The test over this domain will be a take home test. I will give you the test on Wednesday, and you will turn it in on Friday. You may use your notes, google, etc. to complete this test. Also this week, we will finish the DBQ that we started about the effects of the Civil War, and we will do a mostly in-class project at the end of the week. Remember that notes and other helpful resources are at Coach Sawyer's Schoology account. All of you have accessed this at least once.
