ESOL American Lit Week of November 13 - 17

Only one more week before the Thanksgiving break. We will finish Transcendentalism and discuss narrative writing this week. We will also work on EOC preparation. The EOC has been moved to December 4 and 5, and there is an EOC Blitz that will help prepare you for it on Saturday, December 2 from 9am to 11am.

ESOL World Literature Week of November 13 - 17

We will continue with The House on Mango Street and researching skills. On Monday, we will go to the media center for a murder mystery research activity. The rest of the week, we will work on research and research writing skills. Remember your Mango Street projects are due on Dec 1.

ESOL World History Week of November 13 - 17

Only one more week before the Thanksgiving break. We will complete Unit 9 (Industrial Revolution, Imperialism, WWI) this week and test on Friday. I will add the link to the Review game later in the week.UNIT 9 GAME

ESOL American Literature Week of November 6 - 10

Your speeches are due on Monday. Monday is the day set aside to presenting your speeches to the class. You will get 2 grades for your speeches--one for Speaking and Listening and one for Writing Summative. Remember no school on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we will start our new unit on Transcendentalism and also on EOC preparation.

ESOL World Literature Week of November 6 - 10

Your Argumentative Essays are due on Monday. I will help with formatting issues before you print your final papers. We will begin the next Unit and focus on The House on Mango Street after that. We will do a research project in addition to the rest of the Mango Street project.

ESOL World History Week of November 6 - 10

Remember that there is no school on Tuesday. On Monday, we will finish Unit 8 and review for the test, and start Unit 9. Wednesday will be the test on Unit 8 and then time to do the Word Wall Words. I will post the link to the review Kahoot soon.

ESOL American Literature Week of October 30 - November 3

We are working on our Embedded Assessment for Unit 2 which is an argumentative 2-3 minute speech. You will give your speeches on Monday, November 6.

ESOL World Literature Week of October 30 - November 3

On Friday, we will have a Unit 2 summative test mostly over the graphic novel, Persepolis, which we finished reading early this week. I will post a link to a review here. Also, we are working on the argumentative essay, which is due Monday.

ESOL World History Week of October 30 - November 3

We are working on Unit 8, Revolutions around the World, this week. We had a 10 question Part 1 test on Monday and will take the rest of the test on Monday.
