ESOL American Literature September 17 - 21

This week, we will focus on completing The Crucible. On Tuesday, we will write a narrative based on dialogue from The Crucible.

ESOL World Literature Week of September 17 - 21

We will continue to read Persepolis and read pieces from the Springboard textbook. On Tuesday, we will be in the Computer Lab to finish the narratives.

ESOL US History Week of September 17 - 21

We will cover the first half of Domain 4 this week. Domain 4 is about the era of big business and the Progressive Era. This covers the last part of the 1800s and the early 1900s. We will have a quiz over Big Business on Friday. When we come back from the break, we will finish Domain 4.

ESOL American Literature Week of September 10 - 14

We will continue reading The Crucible and working on the packet that goes with Springboard 2.3. We will have a quiz over Act 1 on Thursday. On Wednesday, we will go to the computer lab to complete the Synthesis Essay.


On October 10th, Wheeler will have a testing day. The following list tells what each grade will do on that date.

We will continue to read Persepolis and answer the Chapter Questions. There are also a few readings from Springboard that we will cover as well. On Friday, we will have a Vocabulary Quiz over the Persepolis vocabulary.

We will finish Domain 3 this week. Tentatively, the test will be on Friday. On Monday, I will give time to complete the Civil War Graphic Organizer that I gave you on Friday. Also, we will analyze the Gettysburg Address.

ESOL American Literature Week of September 4 - 7

We will begin Unit 2 which focuses on The Crucible. I will also allow computer time to finish the Synthesis Essay. Remember to give parenthetical citations (in-text citations) in your essay. On Thursday, we have a visiting musician who will play her original songs, some of which we will analyze for figurative language, theme, etc.

Remember that the Unit 1 Summative test is Friday. We will finish Unit 1 and review for the test this week. Anyone who has not finished the Cultural Identity essay needs to get it to me as soon as possible. A late grade is better than a 0.
