This week, we will finish the movie, Their Eyes Were Watching God, and work on the group research project which is a PowerPoint presentation of a subject related to the Harlem Renaissance. Remember that your last slide should be your Resources slide that should be in APA format. There is no set number of slides required, but remember that your presentation should be between 3 and 5 minutes. The presentations will be on Wednesday, December 19, which is the last day you are required to come to class since we have no final.

ESOL World Literature Week of December 10 - 14

We finished The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian on Friday. Unfortunately, many of you were missing because of the Biology EOC. You will need to finish reading the book on your own and answer the chapter questions. There will be questions from PTI on the cumulative final exam. Also, we will have some quickwrites this week over PTI. The Tic-Tac-Toe project is due on Friday, December 14. Many of you have already done parts of it. We will talk about the essay piece of the Tic-Tac-Toe project on Monday so that you have a better idea how to do it. This week, we will spend some time doing the research paragraph in class and watch a movie based on a Sherman Alexie short story.

On Monday and Tuesday, we did a short mini-unit on archetypes, symbols, and Native American folklore, focusing on symbols in the last chapter of PTI and a Lakota story called "White Buffalo Woman."
