ESOL US History Week of October 15 - 19
We will be studying the years between World War I and World War II this week, and will have a quiz on Friday over the material. We will start on Monday with notes and watching America:Story of Us-Cities.

ESOL American Lit Week of October 8 - 12
We are still working on the second half of Unit 2 which focuses on speeches. Last Friday, I introduced you to the ProCon website and students who were present chose topics for their speeches. The written portion of your speech is due Monday, October 22 so that you can give the speeches in class throughout that week.

ESOL World Literature Week of October 8 - 12
We will continue to read and discuss Persepolis as well as some readings from the Springboard book. The next Embedded Assessment is writing an Argumentative Essay. As a class, we will examine the effects, positive and negative, of Social Media on teens.

ESOL US History Week of October 8 - 12
We will begin working on Domain 5 today. This is a long, but very interesting domain which includes World War I, the Great Depression, and World War II. As usual, we will begin with notes and move on to individual and group activities from there.

ESOL American Literature Week of October 1 - 5
We talked about modern-day witch-hunts and did a quickwrite about them on Monday. We also learned about rhetorical appeals. On Tuesday, we saw a Ted-talk about procrastination and analyzed the Ted-Talk for rhetorical appeals. We also discussed the Gettysburg Address which we will have a quiz over on Wednesday. The rest of the week, we will continue to work through Unit 2 of Springboard and prepare to give speeches next week.
ESOL World Literature Week of Oct 1 - 5
We will continue to read from Persepolis. We had a Common Formative Assessment on a CommonLit Article on Tuesday. We learned about participles and will continue to work on those. Narratives were due on Tuesday.
ESOL US History Week of October 1 - 5
We will finish Domain 4 and take the test on Friday. On Wednesday and Thursday, we will finish the unit and review for the test.
