US History Week of January 25 - 29
We have been working on Domain 1, covering Exploration through New Nation since the beginning of the semester. Tomorrow (Thursday) is the Domain 1 test. We reviewed today by playing a Bingo game with questions from the test that are not on quizzes. Be sure to study your three quizzes because 27 of the questions from the test come directly from the quizzes. The mini-DBQ on The Federalists vs. the Anti-Federalists is due on Friday.
Algebra 1 Week of January 25 - 29
We took the test on Unit 2C on Friday. On Monday, we started the new unit, Unit 3A, covering quadratic graphs. We learned what a quadratic function is and the characteristics of a quadratic graph. We added many pages to the Interactive Notebook today (Wednesday). We will continue by learning domain and range and will practice our new skills with a fun vocabulary game.

US History Week of January 19-22
This week we have been learning about the Road to Revolution and started on The New Nation. The quiz over Road to Revolution will be tomorrow (Friday). We will complete the New Nation notes and begin the second episode of America: The Story of Us if time permits tomorrow. I also handed out a mini-DBQ on Federalists and anti-Federalists today. It will be due next Friday. The Domain 1 test will be January 28, so study hard. Be sure and keep all quizzes and focus your studying on those.
Algebra 1 Week of January 19-22
The test over Unit 2C is tomorrow (Friday, Jan. 22). The test will cover functions and relations, rate of change, domain and range, evaluating functions, and arithmetic sequences. Next week, we will start on Unit 3A, which is quadratic functions.

US History 1-5-16 through 1-15-16
Welcome to US History! I'm excited about this semester, mostly because I can see that you as a group are eager to learn and succeed! You don't know what a blessing that is to a teacher. As I said, this class is challenging, but I will do everything in my power to help you learn US History and prepare for the EOC and for your future as a member of our society. We started with a map of the United States and finished week one with a quiz of the states. Most of you did very well because you clearly studied. We finished the notes on Exploration and Colonization and will have a quiz on Tuesday. Remember to always keep your quizzes when I give them back, because you will see most of the questions, especially the multiple choice questions, again on the Domain tests. We will be keeping a notebook for the semester, which will be periodically graded for completion and order. Hopefully, this will help us all be more organized. This next week, we will take notes about the events leading up to and including the American Revolution.

Algebra 1: 1-5-16 through 1-15-16
Welcome back! Many of you are returning students, but I'm happy to welcome those who were with Ms. Sorensen and Ms. Buhler last semester. We are currently working on Unit 2C. This unit covers the difference between functions and relations, discrete vs. continuous data, domain and range, average rate of change, and the different types of sequences. We will have a quiz over functions on Tuesday, January 19 and the final test for Unit 2C will be Friday, January 22.
