ESOL US History Week of February 24 - 28

We have one more week on Domain 3. This week, we will discuss the Reconstruction Era from 1865 to 1879. The test will be on Friday, February 28.

ESOL World Lit Week of February 24 - 28

We will continue reading Persepolis and answering the chapter questions. We will also begin reading selections from the Springboard text for Unit 2B on narrative. We will have some time in the Computer Lab to continue working on the narratives you are creating.

ESOL American Lit Week of February 24 - 28

We have 2 more weeks to work on our speeches. We will learn background information and look at the  documents for Martin Luther King, Jr vs. Malcolm X and W.E.B. Dubois vs. Booker T. Washington. You will choose one of the two topics and give a 2 to 3 minute speech arguing who had the best plan for America. We will also be analyzing MLKs "I Have a Dream Speech" for rhetorical appeals and rhetorical devices.

ESOL US History Week of February 10 - 14

Since we lost Friday due to the power outage, we will have the open-note quiz over the Antebellum Era on Monday. Then we will begin learning about the Civil War this week. We will have one more week in this unit when we get back from the February break.

ESOL World History Week of February 10 - 14

Since we lost Friday due to the power outage, we will have the Unit 1 test on Monday. We will continue introducing Persepolis and learning about using dialogue rules in writing.

ESOL American Lit Week of February 10 - 14

We started the new unit on Speeches on Friday by listening to the Ted-Talk, "Inside the mind of a master procrastinator." We will continue to work on rhetorical appeals and devices this week and apply this knowledge to famous speeches. We will have two more weeks to work on this unit when we come back from the February break.

ESOL US History Week of February 3 - 7

Because of Access testing, many of you will not be in class Monday and Tuesday. We will mostly work on making up missing material and watching America: Story of Us episode 4. On Wednesday, we will begin Domain 3 which is a 3 week unit.

ESOL World Literature Week of February 3 - 7

With Access testing Monday and Tuesday, we will be missing several students. We will work on review of Unit 1. On Wednesday, we have 1 more piece to read from Springboard before we take the unit test which will be Thursday. Then we will start on Unit 2 which will include reading the graphic novel, Persepolis.

ESOL American Lit Week of February 3 - 7

We have Access testing February 3 and 4. Ms. Loible will be in class with you while I proctor the Access test. You should primarily work on your Act 1 narrative assignment which is due on Thursday. On Wednesday and Thursday, we will finish up The Crucible. The Act 3 quiz will be Wednesday, and the Act 4 quiz will be Thursday.
