ESOL US History Week of August 26 - 30

We will finish Domain 2 on Friday with a test. On Monday, we will complete the Expansion notes. There is one more open book, open note quiz before the test on Friday. On Wednesday, after class, I will post the link to the review game.

ESOL World Lit Week of August 26 - 30

We will finish Unit 1 this week. We only have 1 more reading to do from Springboard. We will be in the lab on Thursday to finish the Cultural Identity Essay and to work on the Name Piece. The Unit 1 test will be on Friday.

We will finish The Crucible this week. During the week, we will have quizzes over Acts 2 - 4.

ESOL US History Week of August 19 - 23

We will begin Domain 2 on Monday. This will be a two week unit, with the quiz over the first half on Friday. Remember, if you are one of the new ones in my class, you will take the Domain 1 Test on Tuesday.

ESOL World Literature Week of August 19 - 23

We will continue in Unit 1 of Springboard this week. On Monday, we will begin to read "By Any Other Name." We talked about how the title is an allusion to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

We will continue reading and watching The Crucible this week. We have a narrative writing assignment due this week, based on Act 1. We will have the Summative quiz over Act 1 this week also.

ESOL US History Week of August 12 - 16

We will finish Domain 1 this week and have the Domain 1 Test on Friday. Monday, we will start on the Revolution notes. Later in the week, I will post the review game on this blog.

ESOL World Literature Week of August 12 - 16

We will continue working on Unit 1 in Springboard this week. On Monday, each group needs to be ready to share out their thoughts on their question from the reading "Two Kinds." We will have a Vocabulary Quiz over the Unit 1 words on Wednesday.

ESOL American Lit Week of August 12 - 16

This week we will begin reading The Crucible and discussing Puritan literature. We will spend three weeks on this unit, which is Unit 2 in Springboard.

ESOL US History Week of August 5 - 9

We will be working on Domain 1, Colonization through the American Revolution, for two weeks. We will have a quiz on colonization on Friday, August 9 and the Domain test over the whole domain will be Friday, August 16. On Monday, we will begin the Colonization Cloze notes and continue working on the Colonization rotation project.

ESOL World Literature Week of August 5 - 9

This week, we will get started on Unit 1 in Springboard about cultural identity. We will unpack the embedded assessment and read selections from the Springboard textbook.

ESOL American Lit Week of August 5 - 9

We will be working on the Native American mini-unit. The summative assessment for this unit is an origin narrative. Throughout the week, we will be reading Native American origin myths and discussing symbolism, narrative form, and sensory language.

ESOL US History Welcome Fall 2019

Welcome back to school! US History is a challenging class, but if you do your classwork and study for tests, you should do very well. We do have a class set of the textbooks this year that will stay in the classroom, but the great news is there is also digital access.
