ESOL US History Week of January 27 - 31

We will complete Domain 2 this week and have the test on Friday. This week, the focus will be on expansion and learning about Andrew Jackson as president. I will post the Kahoot Review game on Wednesday after school.

ESOL World Literature Week of January 27 - 31

We will continue to read selections from the Springboard text to prepare for the Unit 1 Summative Assessment. On Tuesday, January 28 and Wednesday, January 29, we will go to the Computer Lab to finish the "This is Me" Cultural Identity Essay. This will be a 100 point Summative Writing grade, the biggest grade so far this semester.

ESOL American Lit Week of January 27 - 31

We will complete the unit on The Crucible this week. We will finish watching the movie and do some more reading in the book. There are several assignments associated with this unit:
Four 25 point Act quizzes--Summative Reading grades
Dialogue Formative Assessment--Formative 10 points
Narrative Writing Assignment--Summative Writing Grade 50 points
Movie Viewing Guide-Formative 20 points
Character descriptions--Formative 20 points
Title Quickwrite--Formative 10 points

Yay, we have a little more time to finish. Now, we need to be finished by Thursday, February 6.

ESOL US History Week of January 21 - 24

We will begin Domain 2 on Tuesday. We only have 9 days to complete this unit, so we will be working hard each day. There will be an open-note quiz on Friday, January 24.

ESOL World Literature Week of January 21 - 24

We will continue working on Unit 1 in Springboard. We will have a formative assessment over "Ethnic Hash" and "Two Kinds" on Wednesday.

ESOL American Lit Week of January 21 - 24

We will start on The Crucible on Tuesday. We will be reading the book and watching the movie. The summative assessment for this unit is a narrative writing that will focus on sensory language and dialogue.

ESOL US History Week of January 13 - 17

This week we will learn about the time period between the French and Indian War and the end of the American Revolution. This will complete Domain 1. The Domain 1 test will be on Friday, January 17. I will post a link to the Review game on Wednesday.

Tuesday-we will go to the Media Center to check out Independent Reading books.
Wednesday--Vocab Unit 1 Quiz
All week, we will continue to read pieces from the Springboard textbook.

ESOL American Lit Week of January 13 - 17

We will begin the Daily Grammar Bellringers this week as well as the Daily Independent Reading.
We will continue working on sensory language, plot diagram, and Native-American myths. The Origin Myth Summative Assessment will be due on Friday.

ESOL US History Week of January 6 - 10

Welcome back to school! I am excited to dive into another semester of US History. This is a challenging class that moves quickly, so coming to school is crucial for your success. We will begin this week with the syllabus and jump right into Domain 1. Expect a Unit test every 2 to 3 weeks, and quizzes on Fridays when there isn't a domain test.
