ESOL US History Week of March 30 - April 3

This week we will focus on World War II. I am creating a World War II Webquest that I will put on Google Classroom sometime tomorrow. There is a PPT and Cloze notes for WWII on Mr. Moss's blog that you can access here. http://www.cobblearning.net/mrmoss/

I have heard from about half of the class. I need to hear from the rest of you and you need to send me some work. If you have questions about what you should have already done, feel free to text me at 404-375-4392.

I added the WWII webquest to Google Classroom. If, for some reason, you cannot get onto Google Classroom, please let me know, so that I can help you get on. The webquest is due on Friday along with the cloze notes from WWII.

ESOL World Lit Week of March 30 - April 3

You should have finished Persepolis and sent me pictures of your completed question packet by Friday, March 27. If you have not done it, then you need to work hard at completing that. We will begin to read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian this week. We'll follow the one chapter a day schedule that we did with Persepolis. I have posted reading questions and Youtube videos of  audio-readings of the first three chapters. I will continue to post them as we progress through the week.

ESOL American Lit Week of March 30 - April 3

This is the last week to work on the American Dream unit. If you were at school on Thursday, March 12, then you got the folder with most of the materials for the unit. So far, I have heard from very few of you and as far as the body paragraphs and essay are concerned, I have gotten one body paragraph from one student. You are going to need to really step it up this week. There will be no online instruction over Spring break. Please go to Google classroom and look at the resources I have posted there. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to text me at 404-375-4392.

Tuesday-I added several new resources to Google Classroom to help you write your essays.

ESOL US History Week of March 23 - 27

Welcome to week 2 of digital learning. I have only heard from one of you. Please contact me either through Remind or my email, vivian.huntington@cobbk12.org.

I would love to hear from you to know your status. I added a short lecture about how the Treaty of Versailles impacted World War II. I will continue to record and add other lectures about World War II this week. Please understand that this was my first attempt at recording a lecture; at the end, I couldn't figure out how to turn it off. Feel free to laugh!
Tuesday, March 24: Here's a Youtube video about how to turn in assignments on Google Classroom. If this digital learning extends into more than a few weeks, I'll be using Google Classroom for assigning and receiving your work.

For this week, continue to work on the packet I sent home with the American Dream unit. I had one student turn in the America's Voices paragraph. Let me know how the rest of you are doing with that. Ideally, you should be finished with the materials for America's Voices and working on America and Immigrants this week.

Let me know how I can help you!

ESOL AmLit Week of March 16 - 20

To join the class Remind, text @amlitf2 to 81010

Most of you were there on Thursday to get the packet that I sent home. The work in there should be enough for the next three weeks. I will send reminds and add to the Google Classroom anything that I think will be helpful.
Remember that the Independent Reading project was always due on April 3, so keep working on that.

I will post the questions on the Google Classroom platform for those of you who weren't there on Friday.

Also, remember that the Independent Reading project was always set to be due on April 3, so keep working on that.
