August 24: We are now taking 5 minute basic skills drill tests every day. Monday-addition, Tuesday-subtraction, Wednesday-multiplication, Thursday-division, Friday-mixed practice. We began the new module on Friday of last week. This module includes commutative and distributive properties, combining like terms, translating from verbal expressions to mathematical expressions, perimeter, area, exponents, and Pythagorean theorem.
August 25: We took a quick skills check on distributive property and went on to learning about translating.
August 26: We played a fun Bingo game using translating skills.
August 27: We reviewed for tomorrow's quiz. We anticipate testing on Module 2 around the middle of next week.
August 28: We will take the quiz and then discuss area and perimeter, applying our knowledge of the distributive property to these skills.
